Dilution is the process of reducing the concentration of drug metabolites in a urine sample. This can be attempted a number of ways including: 1. External dilution: The act of adding some liquid to your urine sample after the urine has been removed from your body. 2. Internal dilution: The act of drinking excessive fluids prior to giving the urine sample. Internal dilution can also be caused by excessive consumption of natural diuretics such as coffe, soda pop, medications, etc. Modern drug testing can detect either of these efforts by checking the amount of natural creatinine in the urine sample. If it is abnormally low this is a red flag on your drug test and may result in additional drug testing via hair, saliva or blood. False negative drug test resultDrug testing is not near as accurate as proponents would like the general public to believe. There has been reported a +6% to -6% inaccuracy range. That is a full 12%! Now, that does not mean that all 12% of non drug users test positive. These means that basically 6% of non users test positive and 6% of drug users test negative. A false negative drug test is the latter. Essentially it a false negative drug test is when a person that actually uses has a negative test result. False positive drug test resultDrug testing is not near as accurate as proponents would like the general public to believe. There has been reported a +6% to -6% inaccuracy range. That is a full 12%! Now, that does not mean that all 12% of non drug users test positive. These means that basically 6% of non users test positive and 6% of drug users test negative. A false positive drug test is the former. A false positive drug test is when a non drug usine individual returns a positive drug test falsely. Negative drug test resultA negative drug test result is when a person is tested for drug use and the drug test reports that no detectable drugs have been used. Positive drug test resultA positive drug test result is when a person is tested for drug use and the drug test reports that detectable drugs have been used. This is typically verified by a second confirmation drug test. True positive drug test resultTypically when a person tests positive for drug use the testing authority will run a second confirmation drug test. If this second drug test confirms drug use it is considered a 'true positive drug test'. For more drug testing information see |
